EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation has announced the launch of an upgraded version of its GH134 multi-refrigerant veneer hose line offering the lowest effusion and greatest flexibility of any multi-refrigerant veneer hose in the company’s portfolio. The new hose is a result of Eaton’s GH134-Refresh project aimed at reducing refrigerant permeation by 50 percent while enhancing the product’s physical characteristics.“Effusion is a measure of how much refrigerant is lost through the hose cover,” said Doris Showalter, Eaton sr. product manager. “Our improved GH134-Refresh hose has cut permeation in half compared to the already outstanding performance of our original GH134.”
Showalter said the new hose achieves extremely low effusion values with each of the three most popular refrigerants in use today, R404a, HFC 134a and R22. “Equally important is the very low moisture ingression characteristic of the new “green” GH134 hose, which helps prevent refrigerant contamination,” she said.
Eaton’s new GH134-Refresh hose features an advanced internal polyamide veneer, a synthetic rubber backing layer, a stabilized braided synthetic reinforcement and a chlorobutyl rubber cover. It is designed for use with roll-formed crimp fittings and Eaton’s E-Z Clip Fitting System(TM).
Eaton’s new green GH134 multi-refrigerant hose is available in five sizes:
